I am so spent.

This has been a great altho taxing week. It’s been great to stay with Jules in her downtown abode. A more gracious hostess could not be found! Everyone should live downtown in any city at least once in their lifetime. Sounds and smells multiply as you round the corner. People amble around–either aimless or purposeful–at any given time of the day or night. And parking…well, you know the spiel about parking in the city. Parking is as non-existent in Ess Eff as the sun is on a rainy day, but when you do find a place, the feeling is unbeatable. Ca-ching! All your circling the blocks and evading other swerving cars has paid off! You’ve found a place to park it. Well, at least until the space becomes a commercial parking zone the next morning at 7 a.m. by which time, you better move it lest you get towed.

Today was a strangely serendipitous day. That’s the only way I know how to describe it. Providential, really. One event segued into another, like puzzle pieces fitting together. It all started with a parent arriving late for an IEP and will hopefully end with a night of sound sleep. Among this morning’s events, I made a new friend at my school site in Oakland and while on a wild goose chase looking for a fellow colleague, I randomly ran into an old friend from SoCal at another elementary school. May not sound so amazing, these two little things, but it was everything put together that really kind of floored me.

Anywho. Time to wind down. Jules is going crazy organizing all her stuff.

It’s always a pleasure having you stay with me!  I’m excited for you to teach me some of your saavy baking skills.

Sounds like you’re having fun back in Ess Eff, Mich, even though you’re so tired…. I’m leaving in a week, but let’s see if we can get together some time next week…
    Have fun!
