I left my house to go for a walk/jog this evening at 7:45 pm, which is one of the few times you can go out and experience a decent amount of light, yet avoid the heat of Hades. Ahh, summer in the San Gabriel valley. It’s hot. Too hot. But I digress.

Anyway, I was still in my neighborhood when I noticed a red plastic Vons basket lying in the middle of our street. The kind you would use to carry your groceries. What was it doing there? Did someone leave it there on purpose? One wonders about these things … why the sky is blue; if snails feel pain; what kind of person leaves a grocery basket lying in the middle of the street. The stuff of life.

Hopefully you don’t have a homeless guy walking around leaving his cart in your street
