Noon on a Saturday morning, and here I am sitting in front of my iBook, remnants of breakfast on my desk, This American Life on the radio. Melissa is lying on her stomach on my bed, laughing during the first act about a Dark Shadows convention in the Windy City. This is the first Saturday in a long while where I haven’t had to get up at the crack of dawn to meet someone, go somewhere, work or fulfill an obligation. I have to admit that it’s quite nice. I must have slept for 11 hours now that I think of it. During the earlier part of this morning I must have cycled through 2 or 3 dreams and I think I remember them all. Looking out the window, the sun is out and the day is bright. I am stretching in my chair, feeling totally rested.
