Penultimate night in San Francisco. Half my life is in boxes. Moving day is Saturday. Even though I’m excited about moving back to Lost Angeles, I’m pretty torn up about leaving my life here. It gets harder and harder to uproot as one gets older.

On to some good, sound (much needed) sleep.

A woman walked past me in my neighborhood this morning wearing
mittens.  What kind of farce of a summer is this?!?!  So,
summer (or shall we say, non-summer) in SF has been strange.  Cold
and strange.

Pig or duck?
Weighty question of the evening.

My nose runneth like a faucet. Darn allergies.

So, we (we being my boyfriend and I) quite literally had sushi of the gods tonight, on a very cold and overcast July night to be specific, and it was good. It was very good. [Side note: am starting a top ten list of sushi bars, and the place I ate at tonight, Ebisu, will be on the list. If anyone can offer up any other stellar sushi venues in LA, OC or SF, please send their 411 my way.]

Dessert was almost as sublime: spoon-bending gelato from Sophie’s Crepes; red bean and green tea. It was so bewilderingly amazing, we went back for more.

Later, did some window shopping in Japantown. The Bonsai store was amazing with its Japanese maples and Lilliputian juniper trees. What could top that off?
